Getting to Guanajuato

By plane
While some opt to fly into Mexico City and then take a 5- or 6-hour bus to Guanajuato, the most convenient option when traveling the skies is to fly into the Aeropuerto Internacional del Bajío, a small but modern international airport located 30 kilometers from Guanajuato. Numerous national and international flights arrive and depart from Guanajuato's airport every day.

By bus
Guanajuato's bus station, the Central de Autobuses (address: Carretera a Silao, Km 8), is situated in the city's southwestern outskirts and offers daily routes to all sorts of towns and cities throughout Mexico. If you're embarking on a long journey like the 5+ hour trip to Mexico City, look into the deluxe or first-class buses... the extra cost is well worth the extra comfort!
