Getting to Sosua

By Plane
Sosua is located very near the Aeropuerto Internacional Gregorio Luperón, the Dominican Republic's second largest airport. In addition to domestic flights, the airport - often referred to as the Puerto Plata Airport - serves numerous international airlines from Europe and North, South and Central America.

By Bus
There are two major bus companies in the Dominican Republic: Metro and Caribe Tours. Caribe Tours is generally the company to go with, offering more frequent routes and in many cases lower fares. The entire Santo Domingo - Sosua route takes about 5 hours and makes stops in the cities of La Vega, Santiago and Puerto Plata before arriving in Sosua.

For regional travel, head to Highway 5 and flag down a "gua-gua", a minivan-like bus that will bring you to villages and towns of the region, such as Río San Juan, Cabarete and Puerto Plata. They pass by several times per hour.
