Whether you're up for taking in a bullfight or not, Valencia's historic bullring - which was inaugurated in 1859 - has an interesting Bullfight Museum where you can learn all about the history and traditions of this quintessential Spanish practice in Valencia.
The permanent collection of the museum has some 2,500 bullfight-related items that reflect the evolution of bullfighting. You'll find paintings, sculptures, photographs, bullfighters' costumes, stuffed bull heads, old posters and all sorts of other paraphernalia. There's also an audiovisual room where you can watch videos that complement the rest of the collection. Another highlight of visiting the Bullfight Museum is that it gives you an opportunity to see the inside of the bullring, otherwise only possible during a bullfight, and learn about its different areas.
Valencia's Bullfight Museum, which was founded in 1929, is one of Spain's most valuable museums dedicated to the tradition, and as a student at our Spanish school you can sign up and come along with us on our visit!
