Getting to Antigua
By plane
The airport closest to Antigua is the Aeropuerto Internacional de La Aurora, located fairly nearby in capital Guatemala City. Once you get through customs, you have several options when it comes to getting to Antigua. First off, like with most airports you can take taxi and you will find a fleet of them waiting outside the airport. The most popular mode of transportation is the shuttle; in the airport there are kiosks for all the companies that operate these minivan shuttles, which shouldn't cost you more than $15. Finally, you can catch a bus from Guatemala City's bus station to Antigua's bus station (see below for more information).
By bus
Antigua's buses operate out of the terminal located on 4 Calle, adjacent to the Market. Buses from Guatemala City to Antigua (and vice versa) several times per hour. There are also routes to numerous other cities and towns throughout Guatemala. You can also catch a ride on tourist shuttles to several destinations.
