Coronado Travel Information

Getting to Coronado

Located just a few miles outside of capital city San José, Coronado is extremely easy to get to and is conveniently near Costa Rica's biggest travel hub.

By plane
San José's airport, the Juan Santamaría International Airport, is located just outside of San José. To get from the airport to either San José or Coronado, you can either take a taxi or navigate the bus system.

By bus
San José has bus connections with numerous destinations within Costa Rica along with cities throughout Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama and Nicaragua. The most common bus terminal is the Tica Bus terminal, located near the Mercedes Tower. There are also buses that run every half-hour between Coronado and San José.
