Would you like to tell a special Spanish girl or guy that you have fallen for them, and explain to them that you love their eyes and their hair? Or do you just need to explain to a Spanish doctor that you have an upset stomach, or tell him which part of your leg hurts? We have got all the words and phrases listed here that you will need to describe the body, no matter what situation comes around. These are very useful words to have around, so you may want to memorise them as well as some basic phrases that could use them just in case you need to do so!
There are a lot of situations in which you might need to describe parts of your body. You might be talking to a doctor or giving someone a compliment, as we have already discussed; you might also be in a shop looking for something in particular (a hat for your head, for example, or some jewellery for your wrists), you might be describing someone that you have seen or that you are looking for (what colour was their hair, or what did their facial features look like?), using a phrases that mentions the body (“I saw it with my own two eyes!”), or using words from the body to explain something different (the “neck” of a bottle, a “body” of work, the “foot” of the bed, and so on). There are many ways in which these words can be useful.
Keep this vocabulary list at “hand” so that you will not have to lose your “head” the next time you need to talk about specific parts of the body in Spanish – you will soon see the rewards, as knowing what to say is something that is absolutely sure to pay off. You will want to know all of the different body parts in particular if you are going for a longer period of time, as you never know whether you might have any medical issues in the future that you need to explain to a doctor. It is always better safe than sorry, so make sure to keep these words around so that you can use them if you need to!
